Costa Rica
Sophomore year we journeyed south of the border to Costa Rica. While we were their we dove right into the culture by visiting the BriBri tribe where we spent the night in their tree house. We also shared meals and participated in a community service project where we painted a retirement home. We also were able to make a permanent mark by planting trees in the rainforest. We also spend a few days at EARTH university where we learned about sustainable agriculture and where some of our bananas come from. In my small group we visited a cacao farm where we made hot cacao from real cacao beans! I learned and saw more on that trip than I have from any other travel experience I have ever had.
